Sound familiar?
When you keep ending up in the same painful place
Small disagreements turn into the same big fight.
One of you pursues and the other pulls away.
You feel more like roommates or co-managers than partners.
Trust has been broken and you’re not sure how to rebuild it.
Life changes, kids, in-laws or money stress have pulled you apart.
You’re getting married or moving in and want to get the foundation right.
Most couples aren’t broken. They’re caught in a cycle.
In my experience, relationships rarely struggle because two people stopped loving each other. More often, they’re caught in loops of misunderstanding, old hurt and communication habits that leave both people feeling alone, even while sitting in the same room.
When one partner feels unheard, they tend to reach harder: more questions, more urgency, more volume. The other partner feels criticized or overwhelmed and pulls back to keep the peace. Each reaction makes sense on its own. Together, they create a cycle that runs itself.
Because I’m a Certified Trauma Professional, I also look at what each nervous system brings into the room. Old experiences, including the family you grew up in, shape how safe conflict feels. When we understand that, blame softens and real change becomes possible.

What changes when you get the right support
Couples counselling is not about deciding who’s right. It’s about helping you move from criticism toward understanding what your partner actually needs; from shutting down toward staying present when conversations get hard; from blowups toward disagreeing without a fight; from relitigating the past toward repair; and from feeling like roommates toward friendship, laughter and intimacy again.
Ways to work together
Choose the format that fits your relationship
My couples work draws on the Gottman Method and EFT-informed approaches, within a trauma-informed frame.

Couples therapy intensives
Half-day, full-day or multi-day sessions with a pre-intensive consultation, individual partner conversations and between-session exercises.
Focused
Affair recovery & premarital
Structured support for repairing after infidelity, or for building shared expectations before marriage.

Evidence-based methods, one integrated plan
No two couples are the same, so I draw from several well-researched approaches and tailor them to you.
Gottman Method principles — Practical, research-based tools to manage conflict, build friendship and turn toward each other.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) — EFT-informed work helps you understand the attachment needs underneath the fights, so you can respond to each other with more safety and less defence.
Trauma-informed care — We go at a pace that feels manageable, and pay attention to how past hurt shows up in the present.
CBT and mindfulness — Simple strategies to notice unhelpful thoughts, calm your body and choose a different response.

I’m a Registered Psychotherapist and Certified Trauma Professional who works with couples across Ontario. Most couples I see aren’t broken. They’re stuck in a pattern neither of them chose.
I stay balanced, I don’t take sides, and I bring respect for the cultures, faiths and family expectations each partner brings in.

Online couples counselling for Brampton and Peel Region
All of my sessions happen online, which many Brampton couples tell me is the only way therapy fits. There’s no fighting traffic after work, no babysitter to book, and no worrying about running into someone you know in a waiting room. You can join from home, or from two different places if that’s what your week looks like.
Many couples I work with are balancing more than the two of them: extended family under one roof, cultural expectations about marriage and roles, newcomer stress, or careers that demand long commutes. Those pressures belong in the room too. I bring curiosity and respect to the values and traditions that matter to you.
I also see couples from Mississauga, Caledon, Bolton, Georgetown, Vaughan and the rest of Ontario.
You don’t need to have the right words yet. You just need the willingness to try. The rest is what we figure out together.
Good questions
Before you reach out
Couples Counselling: frequently asked questions
Is it too late for us? Many couples reach out after months or years of feeling stuck. There’s no “too late” as long as both partners are willing to show up and engage in the process. Even couples who are unsure whether to stay together can benefit from understanding what went wrong.
What if my partner isn’t sure about therapy? That’s very common, and it doesn’t mean therapy won’t work. Often one partner reaches out first. We can talk through your partner’s hesitations directly during the free consultation, and they’re welcome to ask me anything.
Do you only see married couples? No. I work with dating, engaged, married, common-law and long-term partners.
Can couples counselling help after an affair? Yes. Rebuilding trust after infidelity is some of the most meaningful work I do. It takes honesty, structure and patience from both partners.
Is couples counselling fully online? Yes. All sessions are delivered through a secure, encrypted video platform, so you can access support from anywhere in Brampton or across Ontario without commuting.
How much does couples counselling cost, and is it covered by insurance? Couples sessions are $200. Most extended health benefit plans that include Registered Psychotherapists offer reimbursement, and I provide official receipts for your claims.
How long before we see progress? Every couple’s timeline is different. Many couples notice shifts in how they communicate within the first several sessions, with deeper change building over time. If you want faster momentum, a couples intensive may suit you.
Do you take sides? No. My job isn’t to decide who’s right. It’s to help both of you feel understood and to change the pattern between you. Both partners get equal care and attention.
Feel like a team again.
